Construction project to improve bridges across OKC metro underway

OKLAHOMA CITY —Your commute to and from west Oklahoma City and Canadian County could be getting smoother after work started Monday on a bridge project.

But commuters can expect a few headaches before we get there.

Oklahoma Department of Transportation Director Tim Gatz told KOCO 5 that the bridges on Interstate 40 and Interstate 44 are old and need to be updated.

But before crews can make major changes, they need to get things ready. Workers could be seen on Monday preparing under bridges, which could cause some traffic issues for the next few months.
