Construction starting soon on Waterway Trail

Construction on the long-awaited Waterway Trail project will begin this week and is expected to enhance outdoor recreational and to continue connecting pathways in our community.

Contractors estimate construction should start tomorrow, Sept. 26, 2024, and it will last approximately 109 days, which will be near the end of January 2025.

The Waterway Trail project spans nearly one mile from the Public Service Company of Oklahoma building on Electric Avenue and follows the drainage canal to Monroe Avenue near the McAlester Regional Health Center.
