Construction underway for Gore Blvd. pedestrian bridge over I-44

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - The City of Lawton has finally begun construction on a pedestrian bridge on Gore Boulevard crossing over I-44.

Michael Jones, the ADA Coordinator with the city, said this project has been in the works since about 2016.

The project includes new sidewalks and pedestrian push buttons at the Gore Boulevard crossings.

According to the city, push buttons will be installed on the sidewalk crossing the I-44 entry ramp to I-44 running south and the I-44 exit ramp from I-44 running north to try and reduce the number of accidents.
