Councilor: South Tulsa bridge project requires road improvements first

TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa City Councilor who represents South Tulsa insists that any discussion of a new bridge over the Arkansas River must include widening and extending Riverside Drive, and the bridge cannot directly connect traffic to Yale Avenue. Yale is two lanes with neighborhoods on both sides, and a Jenks school just up the road.

City Councilor Phil Lakin also wants improvements at the 121st/Yale intersection, which is now a 3-way stop connecting two-lane roads.
