Duncan, Central receive TAP grants

The City of Duncan and the Town of Central High will receive Transportation Alternative Program grants for work in the respective areas.

The Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) provides federal transportation funding for programs and projects defined as transportation alternatives, including pedestrian and bicycle facilities, community improvement activities, safe routes to school projects and other related activities. ODOT staff along with members of the Transportation Alternative Advisory Committee reviewed and scored 135 applications. The ODOT Transportation Commission, at their April 3, 2023, meeting awarded 61 projects totaling $51,864,585. Ten projects received approval by the Commission in the Southwest Oklahoma Regional Transportation Planning Organization (SORTPO) region.
