East 91st Street to reopen ahead of school year near Jenks East campuses

East 91st Street between South Harvard and South Yale avenues will reopen to traffic Aug. 13 with one lane in each direction to improve access to nearby Jenks schools.

TULSA, Okla. - Drivers will soon have easier access to two Jenks Public Schools campuses as a major road project reaches a milestone ahead of the start of the school year.

The City of Tulsa announced East 91st Street between South Harvard and South Yale avenues will reopen to through traffic beginning Aug. 13. One lane will be open in each direction while construction continues on the project.

City officials said the temporary traffic plan is designed to improve access to Jenks East Intermediate and Jenks East Elementary as students return to class. The roadway will remain an active construction zone until the reopening, and drivers attending Meet the Teacher events before Aug. 13 will need to use posted detour routes.
