Fair Miles Oklahoma seeks participants for pilot project

(KTUL) — Fair Miles Oklahoma, a research program aimed at identifying alternative approaches to funding Oklahoma's transportation needs, is now seeking participants for a new pilot project. The pay-per-mile pilot program hopes to explore potential revenue streams for the state roads and bridges while promoting fairness and sustainability. With ongoing increases in fuel efficiency combined with the transition to alternative fuels and electric vehicles, there could be a decrease in available fuel tax revenues. This would affect funding for Oklahoma’s transportation infrastructure maintenance and future innovation.
