Feds award $2.2 million to help plan for OKC bridge replacements

The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded $2.2 million in grants to kick off the early stages of replacing more than a dozen Oklahoma City bridges that are in poor condition.

The grants are part of the Federal Highway Administration's competitive Bridge Investment Program.

Funds will be used to pay for Planning and Environment Linkages studies, which evaluate the benefits and impacts of proposed improvements to the transportation system, focusing on the environment, community and economy.
