FOX23 Investigates: "Roller Coaster Bridge" finally getting fixed after decades of complaints

TULSA, Okla. — Major construction is now underway to fix the infamous "Roller Coaster Bridge" on the Creek Turnpike, a nickname that refers to the stretch of road that carries drivers between south Tulsa and Broken Arrow over Haikey Creek.

A decade ago, the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) told FOX23 investigative reporter Janna Clark there were no plans to fix the bridge. 

Now, after 25 years of complaints about the highly visible bounce that gave the bridge its nickname, crews are fixing the bridge.

If you drive the Creek Turnpike between south Tulsa and Broken Arrow, you can see the work underway.
