Oklahoma lawmakers approve bridge memorial for fallen LeFlore County Deputy Walker LeMay

HEAVENER, Okla. — Oklahoma lawmakers have approved a plan to honor fallen LeFlore County deputy Walker LeMay with a new bridge dedication near his hometown.

An amendment to Senate Bill 1966 will designate a bridge over the Poteau River along Highway 59 as the “Deputy Sheriff Thomas ‘Walker’ LeMay Memorial Bridge.” The location sits about 10 minutes north of LeMay’s hometown of Heavener.
