TULSA, Okla. - The Indian Nations Council of Governments (INCOG) has kicked off the Congestion Management Process Plan to look at traffic congestion and travel patterns in the Tulsa region.
“We’re just launching the update of the congestion management process plan, which is a federally required planning document that we have to produce, because Tulsa is a large urban area,” said Thomas Dow, Director of Transportation for INCOG.
The last time such a study was done was 2009, said Dow.
“We have to identify all the places that congestion is occurring, whether it’s recurring congestion due to narrow roadways that might need to be widened, or whether it’s congestion that’s resulting from car crashes or construction zones,” he said.
