Inola 590 bridge work expected to resume

Inola residents may soon hear and see sounds of construction work and progress on the East 590 bridge; a project spanning State Highway 88 and the Union Pacific rail line.

On October 6, bids were received for restarting the project and Oklahoma Department of Transportation officials stated they are in the process of evaluating each one in order to award a new contract.

ODOT’s statement emphasized, “No updated construction schedule will be available until a contract is signed, however estimated number of construction days will be a factor in the bidding and negotiation process.”
