King Road should fully reopen in about a month, said an Oklahoma Department of Transportation engineer Friday.

King Road has been closed to all traffic at its intersection with State Highway 66 since July 29. The construction is part of ODOT's effort to shift the course of State Highway 20 south, connecting it to State Highway 66 and the Will Rogers Turnpike.

ODOT had originally projected the closure to last about two months.

Josh Fisher, Claremore resident engineer for ODOT, said the road surface work is all complete. The hangup is that ODOT needs to widen the driveway that leads to the Rogers County Warehouse.
