Long-awaited East 590 Bridge opened for traffic

INOLA, Okla. — Officials from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Rogers County, and the town of Inola celebrated the opening of East 590 Bridge.

Jennifer Bullard, Assistant District Engineer for Construction at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, highlighted the $2.8 million bridge's unique features.

While East 590 Bridge is fairly standard in many ways, Bullard points out the distinction that the bridge spans over both a state highway and a railroad, which was a situation that presented unique challenges in considering how to support both vehicular and train traffic.
