Posted: Sep 15, 2026 OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma City Council approved new gateway entrance markers for the city today as part of a $4.1 million beautification project. The gateway signage will feature bold “OKC” lettering at 12 highway entrances across the city.

The project is funded through the MAPS four sales tax initiative, which encompasses 16 projects focused on improving and beautifying Oklahoma City.

Beyond the entrance markers at the 12 highway locations, the project includes structural and cosmetic upgrades to select pedestrian bridges. These upgraded pedestrian bridges will also display the “OKC” branding.
