MURRAY COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) - A Murray County mother is pushing to lower the speed limit on a stretch of Highway 77 where her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend were killed in a crash several weeks ago.

Heather Johle and her boyfriend Christopher Williams died after a vehicle struck their car near River Bottom Road, according to Johle’s mother, Renee Cheatwood.

“There was a blind spot in the car and they were stopped. He looked in that direction, but in the blind spot of the vehicle, he couldn’t see that oncoming vehicle.”

Cheatwood said the speed of the other car made the crash fatal.
