INOLA, Okla. (KTUL) — The road to nowhere may finally reopen later this year.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) has officially hired a new contractor for the Inola Bridge after its last contractor was in default for not completing the work.

NewsChannel 8 has been following this story since July 2023 and has more in Inola.

The 590 Rd. bridge officially has new workers on it.

“This new contractor, we have done work with them within several places across the state. We know their record and we know they’re a good contractor. They are going to get the work done for us," said ODOT Spokesperson, TJ Gerlach.
