ODOT asking for public input on Oklahoma's passenger rail plan

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma Department of Transportation leaders want to hear from the public before updating the state's plans for passenger and freight rails.

The state rail plan from 2021 is a 456-page document detailing how freight rails work in Oklahoma. The plan includes details on the demand, safety, and objectives.

The plan also dives into passenger travel. Leaders from Norman, Oklahoma City, and Edmond may be pushing for a commuter service between those cities along Interstate 35.
