ODOT continues work on Interstate 44 construction, what to know

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is working on several projects statewide, with a few inside the Oklahoma City metro area.

ODOT works on all state-operated highways and roadways, aside from the turnpikes that often connect those roadways. Construction along these roads can have an effect on commuters, like those driving on Interstate 44, which has been under construction for roughly four months.

Emily Long, public information manager for ODOT, said the I-44 project has undergone extensive rehabilitation on the eastbound lanes over Classen Circle. Traffic on the bridge has already been switched to the south half while work on the north half was ongoing.
