ODOT inching forward on S.H. 20 expansion

It’s been decades in the making, but Claremore is on its way to having an overpass. Evidence can be seen east and west along U.S. 66, just north of Flint/King Road.

Bridge pillar placements and road carvings indicate where the bridge and roadways are being constructed. This is just a part of the overall project that marks Phase II of the long-awaited rerouting of State Highway 20, south of its current route through the city’s downtown.

Sherwood Construction started driving H-piles last week for the abutment to support the first overpass bridge to ever be constructed within the city limits, spanning both the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway and Highway 66.
