OKC City Council leaders expected to discuss new pedestrian bridge across Oklahoma River

As part of MAPS 4, this is phase one in the effort to transform the area near the OKANA resort

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma River will soon see some changes as the OKC City Council is considering a bid to build a pedestrian bridge that would cost about $5.7 million.

As part of MAPS 4, this is phase one in the effort to transform the area near the OKANA resort. The pedestrian bridge would be 400 feet long, connecting people to Bricktown, Riversport OKC, OKANA and more.

Last year, city officials said the river would have to be drained for several months to start building. While it would be an inconvenience to businesses in the area, like Riversport OKC, they said it will be worth it.
