Oklahoma's interest in electric vehicles appears to be on an upswing. There were 22,843 EV registrations in 2023 compared to the previous year of 16,300, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
And experts expect the EV market to double nationally from around 3 million to 6 million by 2025 and 9 million by 2030.
"Oklahoma saw some of the largest growth in the EV market, compared to other states in the nation," said Chase Farha, a research associate in the regional affairs department at the Oklahoma City branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, which tracks economic trends in the state.
