Journal Record By Journal Record Staff

August 12, 2023 OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Transportation Commission has approved its County Improvements for Roads and Bridges plan update for fiscal years 2024 through 2028. The plan sets a schedule for more than $804 million in improvements to roads and bridges in all 77 of Oklahoma’s counties. Included in the updated plan are an additional seven bridge projects funded by a major federal grant along with an emergency repair to a flood-damaged bridge. Designed by the Oklahoma Legislature to address deficient county infrastructure, the latest plan is to replace or rehabilitate 176 county bridges – of which 74 have been deemed structurally deficient or functionally obsolete – and to improve 395 miles of county roadways over the next five years.
