The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority approved nearly $20 million in road improvement projects near Chickasha last week.
The first project is an $8.6 million contract for shoulder and guardrail reconstruction along the I-44 / H.E. Bailey Turnpike between US-62 near Newcastle and US-277 near Chickasha.
This will encompass mile marker 89 to mile marker 106. This project includes installation of mountable curb, a new curb inlets and new slotted inlet drains as well as removal of an inside curb median. The bid was awarded to T.J. Campbell Construction, according to Darian Butler, OTA Director of Engineering.
