OWASSO, OKLA (KTUL) — Traffic along 96th Street in Owasso could look much different in the coming years.

The City of Owasso is proposing widening improvements along 96th Street between Mingo Road and Garnett Road, a project that would expand the roadway to three lanes and add the city’s first major roundabout.

Plans call for one through lane in each direction, a center turn lane and median, designated sidewalks and bike lanes, and a roundabout at the intersection of 96th Street and Mingo Road. The project would also provide Bailey Elementary School with a new entrance designed to improve traffic circulation and safety during school drop-off and pick-up times.
