Pedestrian collision on Interstate 44 prompts review of highway safety in Oklahoma

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — A pedestrian collision on Interstate 44 is raising questions about how often incidents like these happen.

NewsChannel 8 spoke with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol to find out.

While it's not uncommon to see people on the interstate, OHP warns that doing so is actually illegal.

“There is specific legislatures and statutes put forth as far as walking along a controlled access highway. Otherwise known as a turnpike. That is illegal," Oklahoma Highway Patrol public information officer, Preston Cox. View the full article: KTUL.com
