Planning panel approves 5-year street project; 4th Street listed

With the extension of the sales tax to feed the Streets and Sidewalk Fund, a list of street and sidewalk repairs for the city to pursue was approved this week by the Planning Commission.

Planning and Development Director Paige Harjo presented the latest draft of projects proposed by members of the commission over the past few months at the meeting April 27.

“The commissioner’s role is to compile the list we then put into action. Ultimately the council decides on the projects, because we may have in-house to do the work, but their role is give us the five-year plan and we work on the plan to fit the taxes,” said City Administrator Taylor Tannehill.
