Pollard: Thirty years of transportation energy leadership in Oklahoma

Thirty years ago, the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments(ACOG) established what became the first regional Clean Cities Coalition designated by the US Department of Energy in the US – a public-private partnership to advance alternative fuels and fuel-saving technologies.

At the time, there were only two public compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Oklahoma City. There were no electric vehicle recharging stations for public use; CNG, ethanol, biodiesel, and propane were used in relatively few fleets.
