SH-51 added to ODOT’s 8-Year Plan

Broken Arrow

Post Date: 07/26/2023

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation and the City of Broken Arrow are working to solve traffic congestion along the Broken Arrow Expressway from Aspen Avenue to the Muskogee Turnpike. ODOT has agreed to add the corridor to the 8-Year Construction Work Plan that outlines highway and bridge projects for the next eight federal fiscal years. "It will take time, but it is a huge win for the City of Broken Arrow," Assistant City Manager Kenneth Schwab said to the City Council on July 17. The 8-Year Plan is updated annually and approved by the Oklahoma Transportation Commission. The latest published plan for 2023-2030 contains 1,800 projects and $8.4 billion in funding for highway and infrastructure improvements.
