The Southwest Oklahoma Regional Transportation Planning Organization (SORTPO) invites community members to a series of public outreach events dedicated to the development of the Forward 45 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP).
The meeting will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. December 17 at the Newcastle Multipurpose Building, 705 NW 10th Street. An event organizer said, “These events are a key part of SORTPO’s commitment to involving the community in shaping the future of transportation in Southwest Oklahoma.”
The Forward 45 RTP is a comprehensive, 20-year strategic initiative designed to guide transportation decisions for all travel modes in southwest Oklahoma. The plan addresses key issues such as transportation safety, system conditions, accessibility, quality of life, and environmental impacts, with the goal of creating an integrated and efficient transportation network for Southwest Oklahoma.
“We are eager to engage with the community and gather feedback that will guide our transportation planning efforts,” said Julie Sanders, SORTPO director of Transportation. “These public events are a great opportunity for residents to be a part of the Forward 45 plan development, ask questions, and share their ideas and concerns.”
