Flashing yellow lights will return this week throughout the Oklahoma City metro area as schools reopen for their first day. These traffic lights signal the twice-a-day school zone speed limit.
This change can affect your typical commute by dropping the speed limit by 20 miles per hour to ensure students are getting to and from school safely.
Oklahoma City Police Department said they will be utilizing increased enforcement for the first weeks of school to make sure speeding drivers are yielding to.
