Tulsa City Council to receive $500K for Gilcrease Expressway bridge repairs

Repairs will close traffic beneath the bridge, but the Gilcrease Expressway will remain open.

TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa City Council is expected to receive a $500,000 payment to cover damage to the Gilcrease Expressway bridge at Lansing Avenue after an oversized dumpster struck the structure.

The damage occurred when a truck hauling a large dumpster hit the bridge during pickup for a neighborhood dumpster program. The program places dumpsters in neighborhoods for residents to use over a weekend before they are hauled away.
