TULSA, Okla. - Drivers around Green Country have noticed new equipment popping up along some of the area’s busiest highways, prompting questions about what the devices are and what they’re used for.

The temporary traffic monitors have been spotted along major corridors like Highway 169 near Owasso and Highway 75, including locations in both directions near 126th Street North.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the equipment may look intimidating, but it’s not used to watch or track individual drivers.
