An ambitious plan to reduce fatal crashes is finalizing for OKC. How to give feedback

Oklahoma City planners are preparing to finalize a draft of the Vision Zero project meant to reduce fatal crashes and improve safety on public roadways throughout the city.

The current version of the plan is available for public review and comments on the city project website until Wednesday, Jan. 8. The final plan is expected to be adopted in early 2025.

"Vision Zero" aims to bring all traffic fatalities and severe crash injuries down to zero, further increasing safe and healthy mobility for residents. Oklahoma City, ranked the 20th-largest city in the U.S. for several years, is also only one of two major cities to not yet adopt a Vision Zero Plan, but it received $800,000 in federal grant funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation to begin developing one.
