El Reno's 'The Hub' project gets $725k boost, aiming to complete $2 million downtown plan

EL RENO, OKLA (KOKH) — The Oklahoma Route 66 Commission has awarded $725,000 to El Reno, Oklahoma, to go towards "The Hub", a downtown project.

The Hub is intended to improve upon visitor experience in El Reno as traffic comes in along historic Route 66.

"This was a very competitive process with dozens of strong applications from communities across the state," said City Manager Matt Sandidge. "It was encouraging to see the commission recognize the long-term value and readiness of El Reno's proposal."
