Turnpike upgrades lead to lane shifts and closures, affecting travel across Oklahoma

OKLA. — Motorists across Oklahoma should prepare for significant traffic disruptions as multiple road construction projects are underway and scheduled to continue through 2028, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA).
US-75
Lanes will be intermittently narrowed between the I-244 junction and 36th St. N. from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday for striping.
Additionally, the eastbound I-44 ramp to southbound US-75 will be closed daily from Thursday to Tuesday for beam installation.
A major interchange improvement project at I-44 and US-75 will continue through summer 2028.
Current closures include the westbound I-44 off-ramp to northbound US-75, Skelly Dr. between Union Ave. and Olympia Ave., and 51st St. between Jackson Ave. and Olympia Ave.
Drivers are urged to pay extra attention in the work zone.
