GLENPOOL, Okla. — The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) has officially lowered the speed limit on Highway 67, also known as 151st Street South, following a deadly crash last month that took the life of a nine-year-old boy.
FOX23 first reported on the deadly collision that happened on September 9 near Peoria Avenue that Taylyn Bain was pronounced dead at the scene.
Now, one month later, new speed limit signs have been installed along Highway 67. The posted speed has dropped from 65 miles per hour to 45 from east of Peoria.
ODOT also reduced the speed limit further east into Bixby, lowering it to 55 mph from Peoria to Yale Avenue and to 45 mph from Yale to Memorial Drive.
