Travelers in the Oklahoma City area should brace for another weekend of traffic delays as ongoing construction projects continue to affect major roads and highways. According to an advisory from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), the westbound I-40 will be narrowed to one lane between Choctaw Rd. and Douglas Blvd. from late Friday afternoon through early Monday morning to facilitate the finalization of bridge and interchange reconstruction in Midwest City. With this phase of work involving periodic traffic stops, paving, and the shifting of lanes, significant slowdowns are anticipated.
